I’m a little irked by the whole Dogecoin, Elon Musk, and Bitcoin saga that seems to dominate the headlines lately. Why you ask…?*
1) As I mentioned already, I don’t understand why anyone is paying attention to a coin that was started as a joke
2) Elon Musk, while yes, he is a well known business celeb, is just one man. Why is his opinion the up or downfall of a particular asset? If your valuation of an asset relies on how one man feels about it on a particular day… then, I just think that’s shortsighted investing.
3) All of this is headline fodder. At the end of the day, I believe crypto is a long game…. so all this is just noise and clickbait.
Instead, we should be focusing on things like what the CPI index is doing.
*Or maybe I’m just annoyed because I stayed up late last night because I forgot today was tax day…and as I learned the hard way, doing your taxes on the day after you get your 2nd vaccine shot when you feel like crap and you have to figure out how to adjust everything because you worked for a job in one state and then moved and worked remotely for part of the year to another state, was a bad idea.
